On November 4, 1986, Alexzandra Spencer Johnson was born. Alexz is a musician, actor, and philanthropist from Canada. Independently published in 2010, her first album, Voodoo, was followed by the demo The Basement Recordings, followed by The Basement Recordings II and the E.P. Skipping Stone in 2012. In 2013, The Basement Recordings III was made available. Her sophomore effort, Let ‘Em Eat Cake, was released in October of that year, and an extended play sequel called Heart was released the following year. Alexz Johnson is most recognized for her performances as Erin Ulmer in the 2006 horror thriller film Final Destination 3, Jude Harrison in the CTV series Instant Star, and Annie Thelen in the Disney Channel series So Weird. In 2008, she won the Gemini Award for Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series (Instant Star), for which she was nominated three times.

Johnson was reared close in Coquitlam after being born in New Westminster, British Columbia. She has Scottish, English, and Swedish ancestry. Johnson, the sixth of ten children, claims that her family valued creativity and the arts. Her younger brother does music, another brother does graphic design, and her brother Brendan is a singer-songwriter and music producer with whom she frequently collaborates.
Johnson began singing in front of her huge extended family at three. She began vocal training at age six, performing with her local kid’s choir at festivals at age seven and presenting solo performances at school and community events at age eight. She applied to the P.N.E. talent hunt when she was nine, making the finals.

She participated in various talent shows and festivals, and at the age 11, she won a competition for national anthems. Her performance of “O Canada,” the Canadian anthem, was broadcast on television. Alexz Johnson’s Rising to Fame
After four seasons of Instant Star, Alexz experienced some pretty bad off-camera drama in her long music career when Epic and Capitol decided to put their songs on hold because of internal disputes. Despite having zero bucks in her pocket, she adds, “Things just land where they are supposed to land, and you have to keep moving forward.” Alexz has arrived in New City to redefine and re-launch herself as a true artist.
The singer, who will soon start playing around N.Y.C., says, “It’s been great. I have been living with my best friend in Brooklyn, and I’m meeting and greeting many wonderful people, working with that many pleasing people,, and maing astonishing music.” She is also about to start a movement via Kickstarter for significant funding and a tour for Alexz’s next full-length.

The Skipping Stone EP, five five-song samples of the new wonderful music Alexz has been composing in Nashville and Los Angeles, where Alexz meets up to create and record with amazingly renowned Jimmy Robbins, is soon to be independently released. She declares, “I love Nashville; it has impacted my creativity.” When she was there and started working on a piece, she paused in front of the wall covered in pictures of all the fantastic ladies who had performed at the Ryman, including June Carter, Dusty Springfield, and Patsy Cline, and Alexz reflected on how the voice sufficed as a “narrative.” You didn’t need the ploy or the series to be a singer. She notes that she no longer feels the need to separate her acting self from her singing self as she did when she was younger, at age 25, because she feels fuller. She says, “Look at Streisand and Cher.” Both are unique voices, capable of acting and being taken seriously.

Alexz Johnson started composing her third studio album, which Mark Howard would produce. On July 4, 2017, Right Now, the first track from her third studio album, was available. A Stranger Time is a nine-track studio album formally published on September 1, 2017. On her birthday, November 4, 2017, Johnson’s YouTube account debuted the music video for Right Now. Multiple music videos and a behind-the-scenes video of the album’s recording are included with the CD. Live from A Stranger Time, her second live CD, was made available on March 9, 2018, by the artist.
She announced her fourth studio album on her official Instagram account in late 2019. The album’s release was preceded by the tracks Running with the Devil and Weight and a little documentary called The Longer Road. Still, Alive was made available on May 8, 2020.
